The Eastwood Collieries’ Male Voice Choir continues the tradition of Male Voice singing through its much varied repertoire of traditional, modern, sacred pieces, songs from the shows and more. With the need to constantly inject fresh songs into our repertoire, the cost of music can be a major expense out of limited funds.
In an effort to meet this challenge, the ECMVC have established a scheme which we call Music Friends. A Music Friend helps us by sponsoring a specific song and income this generates is used to offset the cost of future purchases. A Music Friend can either select an available title from our current repertoire or, indeed, could be the person to be associated with a new piece of music.
When it appears in the choir’s concert programme, the Music Friend’s chosen piece is labelled accordingly. We also display a full list of Music Friends, showing the individual/business or organisation’s name, in our concert programmes and on this website.
If you would like further details on this idea then please do not hesitate to get in touch, using the Contact Us form. There is no set cost associated with becoming a Music Friend, as we are grateful for any donation, large or small. A recently purchased piece of music cost the choir around £200, which gives you an idea of the sort of prices we have to pay to provide all members with a copy. Whilst the main reason to become a Music Friend is to support the choir, there can be other benefits. Some friends use the scheme to publicise their business and others have gifted a Music Friend to a loved one.
A full and extensive list of available music is also available from the Hon. General Secretary.
