Description
In 2006, Eastwood Collieries’ Male Voice Choir took the bold step of organising a major concert in the 2,500-seater Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham. After many months of preparations and rehearsals, nine male voice choirs performed together on the Concert Hall stage alongside special guests, The Grimethorpe Colliery Band.
ECMVC were joined by Bestwood, Coalville, Dalesmen, Gresley, Leicester City, Melbourne, Moira and Nottingham Male Voice Choirs and the capacity crowd enjoyed a wonderful evening of music, whilst raising thousands of pounds for charity.
The event was such a success that the decision was made very soon after to organise a return in 2010, followed by a further concert in 2013. In total, the three concerts were able to hand over £53,000 to charitable causes.
This double CD captures all the music from the night. For the full track listing, see the additional image.
A further double CD is available of the 2010 concert but, sadly, the recording of the 2013 Sounds Sensational has sold out.
