Sing a Song of Lock Down…

We hope all our friends and supporters are staying safe – and enjoying the great weather, if at all possible. As you will be aware, all normal choir activities were suspended from Monday 16 March. However, you will see below that we have been far from idle!

Every now and then we’ve been linking to a track from our new album, available on YouTube. It serves to remind us that ECMVC has produced fine music in the past and will continue to do so in the future, when conditions allow. Here’s another offering from our CD, ‘Every Man Was Singing’. This time, it’s ‘The Way We Were’ which perhaps reminds us that, right now, we are all missing large chunks of our lives that we too often took for granted. We’re also looking forward to being able to return to ‘normal’ – whatever that might be – in due course.

The choir is still keeping in touch with one another – we have an active WhatsApp group, regular email and text communications and MD Liz has been producing homework to help us keep on top of all the new songs we were learning for this year. And we have practice tracks available on the website for choir members to sing along to, courtesy of Rob Edwards, Deputy Accompanist.

The choir have been asked what their favourite tracks are on the CD. Top tenor, Brian Bingham and second tenor, Anthony Green both included this track in their selections. Brian thought the song to be “most appropriate for the current circumstances we find ourselves in” and Anthony says that we “sang the track with feeling, making the most of the great harmonies”. The track also features some great playing by accompanist, Gemma.

Hope you enjoy listening!
