Following the sell-out concert at Nuthall Methodist Church, last month, we are very excited to be joining with our friends, Sonara Singers, for a special Spring joint concert on Saturday 30 March, at Underwood Church. All the details, including how to get hold of tickets, can be found on our website event page.
We thought you would also like to hear about the exciting centenary concert at Nottingham’s Albert Hall on Saturday 28 September. Tickets will be on sale from Monday 15 April and we are sure they will be in great demand. ECMVC will be joined by special guests, Mansfield & District MVC and Pye Hill & District MVC, forming a choir of a hundred voices celebrating a hundred years of song from ECMVC. And, as if that’s not enough to get you excited, the voices will be joined by Newstead Brass!
The concert is called Every Man Was Singing, which is the title of a new song specially written for the choir’s centenary by Gwyn Arch, a well known composer and arranger of choral pieces, with words by ECMVC chorister, Mike Tomlinson. (Mike is also the artist who painted the watercolour specially commissioned by ECMVC for the centenary celebrations and which is used in the concert advertising.)
We have news of other forthcoming concerts and events this year – but that will have to wait for another update!
In the meantime, look out for some great stories about the centenary preparations, coming soon…
