SUMMARY:Music at St Mary's (Greasley) with ECMVC and Rock 'n' Soul Singers
DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to be joined by Underwood’s Rock ‘n’ Soul Singers for this event at Greasley Church. ECMVC even has a mention in one of the stained glass windows! \nRock ‘n’ Soul Singers is a mixed community choir based in Underwood\, Nottinghamshire. Established in 2012\, when a group of friends decided they wanted to sing\, the choir has continued to thrive and grow\, with membership now almost at full capacity. The choir’s repertoire covers rock\, pop and soul from the 1960’s to the present day. Rachel Cropley is Musical Director and Rachel is ably assisted by Alan Shepherd and accompanist\, Teresa Mills.  \nThis will be the third occasion that ECMVC and Rock ‘n’ Soul have shared a concert platform together and the previous occasions have provided the audience with a great mix of music styles. This concert will be no exception!   \nTickets (£10) are NOW ON SALE. If you have a contact in either of the choirs\, you can ask them if they have tickets available. SUMMARY:ECMVC Pop Up Choir at Beauvale Priory
DESCRIPTION:ECMVC\, like all other choirs\, were prevented from singing together during most of the Covid pandemic and it’s taking quite a while to nurse voices back to where they were before the lockdown periods. \nThe pandemic brought the choir’s centenary celebrations to a premature end in 2020\, after launching the centenary year with two memorable concerts – at Nottingham’s Albert Hall and from the staircase in the Painted Hall at Chatsworth House. Sadly the remaining celebration events that were planned for the rest of 202 had to be cancelled – but it’s now time to get back on the road. \nECMVC is a male voice choir of all ages\, singing a wide variety of styles to suit everyone. If you\, or any blokes you know\, would like to find out more about how singing is a proven benefit to physical and mental well-being\, look no further than ECMVC! You don’t have to audition and you will discover that you really CAN sing\, despite telling everyone you can’t. And when you add your voice to everyone else’s\, there’s something very special in the sound you can produce together. \nWe’ll be at Beauvale Priory Tearooms with one or two short sets of songs from around 1.30pm (ish). This really informal jaunt into the countryside will give our chaps a much-needed boost of vitamin D and the chance of supping tea and enjoying a delicious cake (or two)! Oh – and we hope you’ll love what we sing and join in with us if you like.
