We’re very excited to announce that Rolls-Royce Ladies Choir will be joining us for our first Eastwood concert of the year at St Mary’s Church. We try to perform at least once each year at our base and this will be the first of two excellent events at the church in the latter part of 2018. Our last two ‘home’ concerts were very popular, with tickets selling out way ahead of the actual date of the event, so we thought we would provide plenty of notice for this one, which promises to be an excellent evening of great, varied items, with quite a few laughs along the way!
Rolls-Royce Ladies Choir have a reputation for producing a high quality sound. Now over 50 years old, their repertoire includes a wide variety of genres and styles of singing. The ladies performed on the same stage as ECMVC at the recent National Association of Choirs’ WW1 commemorative concert at Nottingham’s Albert Hall but, other than that, it’s been quite a while since the two choirs shared a concert – it’s been too long!
We are trialling on-line ticket purchase for this event, with tickets available via Eventbrite. The usual channels are still available – call 07802 758223 to reserve tickets to be collected and paid for on the night, or, if you know a choir member, you can ask them. If you’d rather reserve tickets via email, then send a message to email@example.com, or use the contact form on the choir website.
Tickets cost £8 and include interval refreshments. Tickets will be available from 5pm on Monday 6 August.
Proceeds from this concert will help with ECMVC’s preparations for the forthcoming centenary celebrations. We are pleased to announce that we have teamed up with the Prostate Cancer UK charity for our centenary year and any funding we attract for our preparations, which include the recording of a new CD, will allow us to maximise our donation to this very worthy cause.
