Eastwood Collieries’ Male Voice Choir would like to wish all our friends, supporters and visitors to our web site and Facebook page, a very Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.

The choir has had a very busy 2016 and by the end of the year, will have performed at 15 events, raising thousands of pounds for local and national charities. As we approach the end of the year and prepare for the next, we would like to thank all those who have supported us in so many ways throughout the last twelve months. Particular thanks go to our music team of Liz and Teresa who have guided us through the learning and performing of a number of brand new items to our repertoire.

We have had the privilege of hosting two concerts at which visiting choirs have joined us – Braintree Male Voice Choir from Essex and Beaufort Male Choir from Ebbw Vale. We look forward to making reciprocal arrangements with both choirs over the next couple of years.

Further highlights included joint concerts with two local brass bands – Derwent Brass and Ilkeston Brass – and also our first joint concert with Rock ‘n’ Soul Singers of Underwood.

But all of our concerts are important to us and each one represents a highlight in its own right. We are very grateful to those who invited us to sing with them.

The feedback we have received from audience members has been fantastic and we are looking forward to building on this success, not only over the next year, but as we work towards our centenary year, commencing in September 2019. More news on this next year but there are already a number of really exciting events and partnerships being lined up for this, so watch this space!

In the meantime, DO have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and we look forward to seeing you all in 2017!
