Engagements for the rest of 2018 and other news

The choir has now published its engagements list for the rest of 2018 – although there will inevitably be one or two changes, with new appearances added and changes made to details of those already confirmed.

The list can be viewed within the events calendar pages of the website, or as a downloadable PDF document from the engagements page.

Other news:

Choir Centenary Year
Our preparations for the centenary year continue at a rare pace. The centenary concert, provisionally titled Every Man Was Singing, is confirmed for Saturday 28 September 2019 and, whilst tickets are not yet available (!), you are invited to put it in your diaries as early as possible. Our guests include Mansfield & District Male Voice Choir, Pye Hill & District Male Voice Choir and Newstead Brass, all of whom have strong links with the Nottinghamshire coalfields of the past. Our Master of Ceremonies for the concert will hopefully (subject to availability) be one of the choir’s Vice-Presidents – Dominic Heale, from BBC East Midlands Today.

New choir recording
We are planning to release new recordings of the choir in time for the launch of the centenary year and potential mobile recording studios are currently being assessed for suitability. This will be the first recording of the choir in its own right since the 80th anniversary of its formation. Other recordings of the choir from more recent times are the three Sounds Sensational concert CDs, from 2008, 2010 and 2013.

The new General Data Protection Regulation
We will soon be publishing our new privacy and data protection policy, which is necessary for us to comply with the new EU GDPR laws coming into force towards the end of May. The policy will include all our uses of personal data, including the names and email addresses held to enable us to keep you up to date with choir news. For this particular purpose, only a greeting name and an associated email are held and neither are disclosed to other parties. Subscribers always have the option to unsubscribe which would stop the emails being sent to you and also remove your greeting name and email address from the system. More details later.

Please visit our Facebook page (search for ‘ECMVC’) – and ‘like’ us if you haven’t already! – and our website, which always have available our latest news and means of contacting us.
