ECMVC visit Underwood and Stanley Common

Following a fabulously successful concert in Belper with Derwent Brass for the Amber Valley Rotarian Polio Eradication Campaign (report to follow), ECMVC have two more engagements to look forward to in the next few weeks.

Friday, 27 October, at the Church of St Michael and All Angels, Underwood, sees ECMVC joining forces with Sonara Singers.

The event is in aid of the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Association and all profits will be donated to this worthy cause.

PSP is a progressive neurological condition caused by the premature loss of nerve cells in certain parts of the brain. Over time, this leads to difficulties with balance, movement, vision, speech and swallowing. Symptoms can resemble Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Stroke or Multiple System Atrophy, with the result that initial misdiagnosis is common. The PSP Association raises funds for much needed research into the condition.

Tickets (only £7) are available from the choirs, or can be reserved by calling 07505 360407.

Our November engagement is in Stanley Common which, as far as we can remember, is the first time the choir has visited the village.

The choir’s normal repertoire will see a number of Christmas items creep into the programme to get the festive season off to a cracking start!

The church organise an annual programme of events for the local community and the visit of ECMVC has been arranged for over a year. Come along and be part of the choir’s first visit for many years to the area – and enjoy the great hospitality provided by the organisers. The audience will be seated at tables, which makes for a delightfully relaxed evening.

Tickets are limited in number and admission is by ticket only, so make sure you reserve your seat by calling 0115 930 3845.
