ECMVC returned to the Cromford Road Festival this year, after a very successful first visit in 2017. The crowds were treated to fun fairs, food and drink outlets and stalls representing many crafts and charities.
Despite the blistering heat of the day, a contingent of choir members survived two sets of items and treated an appreciative crowd to great music and laughter. The photographs in the Photo Gallery tell their own story – shorts, choir polo shirts, hats and suncream were the essential elements of the uniform for the occasion!
The slogan on the side of the truck says it all – growing together by working together – and serves as the backdrop to Rob lending a helping hand to Gemma, whose music was blowing around in the gentle breeze.
We have quite a lot of news to share with our friends over the next few days, what with upcoming concerts, centenary planning news and a CD recording session on the horizon, it’s a very exciting time for us all. If you’re signed up to our Keep In Touch service, you’ll be receiving an email newsletter very soon!
In the meantime, we have embarked on a focused recruitment campaign to attract new members in time for the centenary preparations. We have a large and healthy membership right now, but to have a bigger pool of choristers to draw from over the next couple of years would provide us with even more opportunities to hit the ambitious targets we are setting ourselves.
So – please look out for our next newsletter…
