After a wonderful end to 2018, Eastwood Collieries’ Male Voice Choir now enter an intensive five month period of getting ready for the CD recording sessions scheduled for early June. As a result of this, there will be just one opportunity to catch the choir in concert in the Eastwood area during this time and this is at Nuthall Methodist Church on Saturday 23 February at 7.30pm. Tickets are now available and can be purchased from choir members, calling the church ticket line on 07939 577496 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Called ‘Spring into Song’, the concert will feature many of the choir’s new favourites, including Miss Saigon’s ‘Bui Doi’ and Jaques Brel’s ‘If We Only Have Love’. One or two songs which are currently being rehearsed in order to be added to the repertoire may even be given their first public outing in Nuthall.
The choir would love to see you there as they embark on what will be, perhaps, the most exciting couple of years of the choir’s long history.
Details will be announced soon for the choir’s big concert at Nottingham’s Albert Hall in September. Do please keep a watch on these news pages or Facebook to make sure you reserve your tickets for this much anticipated centenary concert, which features ECMVC, joined by Pye Hill & District Male Voice Choir, Mansfield & District Male Voice Choir, Newstead Brass and Master of Ceremonies, BBC’s East Midlands Today’s Dominic Heale.
Membership of ECMVC grew by six over the last 12 months. If you, or someone you know, have ever considered joining a choir, now is a great time to consider coming along to one of ECMVC’s practice nights to see exactly how we go about our business of providing first-class entertainment for local audiences. If you like what you see and wish to spend more time with the choir, you will be welcomed with open arms and receive support and guidance on how best to make use of your voice. Remember, singing provides many health benefits as well as opportunities to have a lot of fun whilst developing new or rusty skills. If you’re interested, call secretary Ian on 07802 758223 or 01773 718729, or email email@example.com. More info can be found on the choir’s Facebook page (search for ECMVC) or website – www.ecmvc.org.
